Have Your Say in Fuzine-Debate for your future!
This summer, eight of our students with two teachers will take part in a youth exchange in Croatia by the lake of Funzine in the mountains.
In this weekend I went for a meeting in Zagreb to discuss details about the youth exchange. I spent in Croatia three days together with Kristina, the Lithuanian, Jakub, the Polish, Nikita the Estonian youth leaders and Vesna, the Croatian leader of project.
The second day we headed to Funzine to watch the youth hostel we will live for a week.
As you can see on the pictures I enclosed, ( click the link below) the hostel is located in a beautiful area.
We tried the food in the hostel canteen, and the lunch was fine for vegetarian and for meat-lovers too.
In Funzine, there are two lakes, the one is proper for swim is 40-45 minutes for walk from the hostel., But it worth to go, because by walking there we can pass huge pine trees, lively green life by the cost of the lake and lovely bunches of yellow irises. Not to mention the fitness facilities settled there too.
At the hostel, the first thing you will see is Nemo, the lazy labrador, who borrow his name for the wifi in the house.
The house in comfortable for groups, with rooms for 2_5 persons with toilet and shower included.
From the main hall opening a big room usable for daily workshops and international nights and occasional parties too. 🙂
The schedule of the project contains lots of different workshops and games connected to debate techniques and exercises provoking critical thinking.
Some debate sessions will be hold indoor, many of them outdoor, by the side of the nearer lake, what we can reach on shortcut routes by 5 minutes on foot.
The debate will vary from practising the different techniques and styles. From just having fun debates till the very heavy topic on debating against or next to include refugees into Europe…
At the end of the week we will hold a tournament on debating open for individuals or mixed groups of nationalities.
The more favorable debate style will be the Karl Popper one but we can hear on American or English parliament and world school styles too.
So, here is the challenge for our Hungarian participants , and to prepare it, worth to google on topics of, debates, to aim the good level of debating. Of course, in our meeting before the exchange we will practise debate process.
And of course we will have a lot of fun next to the job of debating on various topics like karaoke, dance, sport facilities as table tennis and not to mention the main fun: to socialize and having fun internationally and make lots of new friends.
And the best part at the end, we will do a trip by the sea too. So please bring bikinis and swimming suits with you.
That’s it briefly, we will definitely have a good time there full with fun and interesting activities.
