You Need to Know when to Hold them, Know when to Fold them….
An amazing experience for both our teachers and our students. We knew in advance that Portugal would be a great transnational meeting. We had a feeling that our partners were sly card players and had been keeping their cards close to their chest, leaving the best hand for the last meeting with a short exchange of students involved. That is exactly what happened. As we wrote on our project home page, we were blown away, we have notebooks full of information, drawings, warmers, closers, a plethora of ideas for future events we host.
Everybody went well out of their way to ensure we had a good time. Though it was not all just fun and games, we learned more than we had hoped to. It is these far flung regions of Europe that can provide the most regarding hospitality, Europeanness, humanity.
All our students and staff returned home overwhelmed. WE are ready to take on the challenge and apply what we learned in our future projects. What did we learn? Hospitality, the way it should be! Logistics – how to get the most punch out of limited resources, yet stay on budget, how to move masses of people around efficiently. The list is really too long to publish here, we have notebooks full of the stuff.
