NEW: REACH Across, An Erasmus+ Youth Exchange!!!
Are you between 14 and 17?
Do you speak English at a B1 level?
Are you free during the fall break in 2019 and the
week of March 15, Due to changes made by the project leader the Budapest meeting will be during Easter, 2020?
Ever hear of Derry? Ever hear of Northern Ireland? Ever hear of the “Troubles?” What about sectarian violence? Unionists vs. Republicans? Brexit? How will Northern Ireland deal with closing the border with Ireland? Halloween? Hurling? Gaelic? Gaelic football? If you have, that’s great, if you have not, no worries, you will soon. Northern Ireland is a fascinating place with incredibly old customs. Some, like Halloween, have been spread around the world. Just how different is the real Halloween from that which we see in movies? Actually, how different is Northern Ireland from what we see in movies?
What about Hungary and March 15? Ever try to explain to foreigners why Hungarians celebrate a battle they lost? Ever think about that at all? Why is Petöfi a national hero? Who were the Aradi vértanuk? Why are there Armenian, Austrian, German, Serb, or Croatian names among the 13? How does all this affect Europe? What else is Hungarian and important from a European perspective?
These are the types of things we will discuss in the R.E.A.C.H. Across project
