Recognize Preconceptions in Movies
Germany – Finland – Hungary
We have a new Erasmus+ project in the pipes! It’s about movies. It’s about preconceptions. It’s about ethics.
The project is part of our Digital Project concept. You will watch serious, even art movies. You will discuss what your preconceptions are of the groups portrayed. For example, in Germany, the Nazis. Can you tell when a movie is being accurate? You will learn how to be critical and tell reality from fake. Or, if you watch a Kaurismaki film in Finland about a Finnish woman and Russian man can you separate politics from reality? Can you be critical of Russian politics but not Russian people? What about in Budapest, have you ever seen the same building in movies portraying Paris, or Moscow, or Berlin? Can you shoot a short documentary to compare the reality of the building to the movie version?
What preconceptions do you have about these groups, places, politics, buildings? Join the project and find out!
It’s all free, you will stay with host families, you will be a host in Budapest.
